Millennials: The Economic Engine of the Future

The wedding is just over 5 weeks away. After marrying 3 sons off in the last three years, I FINALLY get to play the role “Mother-of-the-Bride!” As the parent of 5 millennials, it’s easy to identify with the stereotypes of this younger generation as entitled, spoiled and non-committal. Wedding planning is a great microcosm to see these characteristics at their “best.”

However, stepping back to look at the bigger picture, there’s a lot of misperception about Gen Y and that is the topic of the white paper we’ve produced: “Are Millennials Wreaking Havoc with Your Communications?”  This report is especially written with marketing and communications directors in mind.

Did you know that overall, the millennial generation, now numbering 79 million, is larger than the baby boomers at 76 million?

Did you know that according to the United Nation’s Department of Economic Social Affairs, US Millennnials will out-number ALL OTHER generations by 22 million by 2030?

Why is this so important to those of us in the Association and Non-Profit world? Because millennials are the economic engine of the future!! Not only that, they are only just beginning to enter their peak spending years.

In ASAE’s Decision to Join, we are reminded that as members grow in their career, so does their engagement with your association.

So if your goal is to attract younger people, you need to first understand who they are and what’s important to them. We have some great insights to share with you about that in our whitepaper.
