The Facebook Privacy Chronicles: Limit Your Audience

As the Facebook Privacy Chronicles continue, you may want to reevaluate HOW much of your information is available to the public. As you become more aware of the importance of privacy, you may want to go back and limit past posts (statuses, photos, notes, etc.). This means that posts that may have previously been available to the public can now be moderated; in the past, if you have posted some photos accessible to the public, and now want them only available to your friends, it can be changed. To learn more about how to do this, continue on reading…

Go to Privacy Settings

Click on Limit the Audience for Past Posts

If you go to your Facebook privacy settings, you will see “Limit the Audience for Past Posts,” then go to the right and click on Manage Past Post Visibility.

This will give you the option to either “Limit Old Posts” or “Learn about Changing Old Posts.” To learn more about changing status post visibility, you can read more in our blog entitled “Facebook: Important Privacy and Tagging Updates.” To limit all your old posts you can merely click on the Limit Old Posts option, which will limit post visibility to only your friends.

Blocked People and Apps

In your Privacy Setting, if you click on “Manage Blocking” you will see this page:

Have you ever gotten annoyed with a 1000 Farmville invites, and you just keep clicking the “X” button? If so, you have come to the right page. This section of the privacy settings will allow you to regulate who you block, who you block app invites from, and who you block event invites from. Remember, you can always go to the Edit List, and unblock people or invites at any time.
