1.) Make a Video
Video is a fast growing trend in social media. People are more engaged when they watch you talk about your area of expertise. Use an old blog post as the outline for your new Video Post. Track the number of hits and see the difference!
2.) Create an E-Newsletter
Some of your clients and audience members may be more comfortable reading e-mail. Prepare a monthly newsletter for them, and include some of your recent blog posts. Here is a post on what you might want to include in the Newsletter.
3.) Use Key Points
Pull out different quotes to pique the interest of your audience, or to use as tips on your Facebook page. If you posted a blog post on Twitter and haven’t gotten much traffic, try using key points from the article as a headline to sell it. Or to engage your users on Facebook, reformat the content as single steps they can immediately apply.
4.) Create a Blog Series
Begin a blog series from an article by elaborating on main points. Sometimes when you go back to read an old blog post, you realize you had more to say, so tell us in your next blog series.
5.) Utilize the Twitterverse
Share your posts, and articles, more than once on Twitter. There are many different time zones and people living in all of them that may be interested in what you have to say. Don’t be afraid to post your content more than a few times. How many people do you think you could reach in one day?
6.) Use Multiple Platforms
Share on other platforms besides Twitter and Facebook. These two social networks may be the giants of sharing, but there are other places to share your knowledge. Posterous, Digg, or StumbleUpon are great places to post your blog. Don’t forget about your business connections on LinkedIn.
7.) Make a Podcast
Perhaps you’re not ready to take on a full video blog. Podcasts can be just as effective. Re-use and emphasize content in an audio recording. Share it as a free download or use it as a free give-away.
8.) Create a Slideshow
Create a slideshow or presentation of your content and use as a photo album on Facebook, as another way to illustrate points, or to emphasize your design skills as a business. Slideshare is a great app that you can use to do this.
9.) Write a White Paper
A white paper, e-pub, or mini booklet of articles is a valuable way to reformat content. It is a great source of information to offer as a free giveaway to fans and followers. This type of gift works well as a thank-you, or contest prize.
In Social Media it is rare to find any topic that has not already been researched and written about. The challenge is how to creatively engage your audience with information by giving it a facelift. Give your content the It-factor.
